After more than a decade working with some of London’s leading design and build firms, I’ve taken the leap into running my own design studio. It’s a decision that feels equal parts exhilarating and terrifying — but more than anything, it feels right.
For years, I’ve had the privilege of shaping spaces across the capital, working on projects that challenged me, inspired me, and gave me the experience I needed to stand on my own. But deep down, I always knew this day would come. Creating my own studio has been a lifelong dream — one that’s rooted in my earliest memories of home, family, and design.
Growing up, I spent countless hours watching my dad build our family homes. He had a way of taking an empty shell and turning it into something warm and lived-in, a place that carried love in every brick. My brothers soon followed in his footsteps, taking on trades of their own, and I was desperate to contribute too. I may not have had the strength to lift beams or the skill to wire electrics, but what I did have was an eye for space, flow, and detail. That’s where I discovered interior architecture — and I’ve never looked back.
Design has never been “just a job” for me. It’s something that’s woven into who I am. The joy of taking a vision, nurturing it through every stage, and seeing it come to life for a client is something I feel in my bones. I love the way good design can transform not only a space but also how people feel and live within it.
Now, standing at the start of this new chapter, I feel both nervous and excited. Nervous because stepping out on your own always brings the unknown. Excited because I finally get to shape a studio that reflects my values: creativity, collaboration, and a deep respect for the people who will inhabit the spaces I design.
This is more than just a career move — it’s the culmination of years of dreaming, learning, and building. And while the journey ahead may have its challenges, I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
Here’s to the next chapter — one that’s full of possibility, creativity, and spaces that inspire.
